My name is Nelson Das. We have now completed 10 years of this school. April 16 was our official opening day, although the planning meetings had already started in 2015. Pastor Naveed Asif, along with elders from the community, first developed the idea for the school.
Mr. and Mrs. Kim from Korea also came here, and their vision was for Christian children to receive education within their own neighborhood. Similar to schools like St. Patrick’s and St. Paul’s, many parents cannot afford those institutions, so we wanted to provide good-quality education here, if not the very best, then something close to it.
We also wanted children to grow within a Christian educational environment. We began with Nursery, KG-1, and KG-2 because we initially had space limitations. Over time, the school expanded, and now we also have Class 9 and 10 students preparing for their board examinations.
At present, we have around 470 students. You can see the board where the student strength is written. We also have 32 staff members, including administrators, coordinators, and teachers. We work closely together with the church.
Along with residents of Qayyumabad, students also come from Mehran Town, Zia Colony, Christian Colony, and some nearby areas such as Neelam Colony. Previously, some students also traveled from farther areas, but many had to leave because of transportation difficulties.
